SONG FACTS
- The classic Journey tune Don’t Stop Believin was featured in such films and TV episodes as Scrubs, South Park, The Wedding Singer, Shrek the Halls, Bedtime Stories, Yes Dear, King of the Hill, The Comebacks, View from the Top, Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, My Name Is Earl, Just Shoot Me, Monster and Laguna Beach. t was used as the Grand Finale for the TV series The Sopranos and was also featured as the anthem for the Chicago White Sox’s World Series season in 2005.
- Lady Gagas Born This Way debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated February 26, 2011. In doing so, it became the 1000th number-one single in the chart's history. This was the first song with the word 'Born' in its title to top the Billboard Hot 100. The previously best 'born' song chart position-wise was Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild, which peaked at #2 in 1968.
- There has been a lot of speculation as to the meaning of Queens Bohemian Rhapsody. Many of the words appear in the Qu'ran. "Bismillah" is one of these and it literally means "In the name of Allah." The word "Scaramouch" means "A stock character that appears as a boastful coward." "Beelzebub" is one of the many names given to The Devil, but the songs writer, the late Freddie Mercury, claimed the lyrics were nothing more than "Random rhyming nonsense."
- Michael Jacksons Billie Jean was said to be about a girl who claimed that Jackson was the father of her child. Jackson based it on a woman who used to stalk him, writing him letters about a son she thought was his. In his autobiography Moonwalk, Jackson said that producer Quincy Jones wanted to change the title to "Not My Lover" because he thought it would be confused with tennis star Billie Jean King.
