Fall is here, which is always our busiest time of the year. We typically have more weddings by far in September and August than we do in July or August. Plus there are the High School Homecomings and Halloween.
We recently began playing at Hotel Julien on Thursday nights from 9-12 and a new associate of ours, Brian Beez, has been doing some Saturdays there as well. If you have not seen the hotel since it has re-opened, stop in and check it out. It will also be the new home for the FESTIVAL OF TREES next month.
Here is our latest tip from Dan Nichols:
Respect the musical opinions of your local professionals. They do this for a living. Be careful not to cut out all the "cliche" wedding music as you'll find this will negatively impact the dance floor potential. People dance to what they know. A wedding reception is not the time and place to prove to your friends and family that you are into obscure music. You've got a lot of people from all over your family tree that want to have a good time so let your deejay exercise all his or her tools and really work his or her craft.
More tips to come.
