When it's the right time.

Many times at our events we'll get requests, which really is a big help to us because inevitably the guests tell us what they want to dance to. However, the requests that are followed with the line "and can you play it next" are a little tougher to work with.

You see, it's all about timing. If we have just concluded dinner and opened up the dance floor at a wedding or a company function we typically like to play for the, lets say, senior end of the age spectrum. Now might not be the appropriate time for the latest tune from Eminem. In that same line of thinking if an hour or so later the room is rocking with songs from Greeen Day an Nickelback and someone asks us to play Asphalt Cowboy by Jason Aldean - next - again, great song, but now may not be the right time for it.

We know also that, at a wedding for example, we are not going to begin the evening off with the special moment songs as we like to call them, and then immediately follow those with the dollar dance, go directly into the garter & bouquet toss, and the maybe then Chicken Dance (if requsted). All of those are wonderful traditions, but there is a time and a place for each one of them, and we know just where they are.

Until next time - Mike
